What better place than Tombstone, Arizona, where gun-toting actors dressed like sheriffs and outlaws keep the nostalgia of the Wild West alive, to be the focal point of yet another vigilante convergence. The Minuteman Project, as it is called, is being organized by two of southern Arizona's most notorious and outspoken border vigilantes: Chris Simcox and Jim Gilchrist. Their plan is to place "observers" every quarter mile along a 20-mile stretch of border from Douglas to the San Pedro River during the month of April.

However, their actions will not go unopposed. Legal observers are being trained to watch over and document the Minutemen. Counter protests, vigils and other border activities are also planned to take place throughout April. ( April Unity Events )

In San Diego and Tijuana, on April 2nd, 2005, numerous organizations including the Border Angels, FIST ( Fight Imperialism, Stand Together), the Brown Berets, Code Pink, and the ORGANIC collective held a march and a rally at the US/Mexico border, the site of the construction of the Triple Border Fence. This rally was against HR 418, against the Triple Border Fence and against the Minutemen. Between 50 and 75 people were in attendance for the 1.5 mile march, followed by a rally on both sides of the fence. In addition, plans for borderHack 2.005 were announced for this summer.

As the MinuteMen project in Arizona takes the media spotlight, Congress is quietly trying to roll back 30 years of environmental regulations and create a buffer zone of martial law along the borders of the US. HR 418 recently passed in the House and is currently being fast tracked through the Senate. This law would completely exempt any project to build fences or roads in the region of the borders of the US from all environmental laws. This would include the border with Canada as well as the border with Mexico.

The Minutemen's rhetoric is rooted in racism and a twisted interpretation of history and economics. They blame the migrants for everything, then blame the government for not shutting them out, all the while overlooking the impacts of U.S. free trade policies that are forcing people off their land all over Latin America, leaving few options but to come to the country that caused all the problems in the first place.

In San Diego, Speakers decried the loss of life by people trying to cause the border. They read the letter of a mother who lost her son to the border. A representative of the SD Native Plant Society talked about the many endangered plant and animal species that would be destroyed by the fence. Every speaker spoke out about the racism and violence of the MinuteMen project. Enrique Morones of the Border Angels urged everyone to action, saying "We can change this. We can make a stand". Speakers also spoke from the Tijuana side of the fence. Members of the ORGANIC collective announced their plans for borderHack 2.005 this summer.

Recently, the California Coastal Commission rejected a proposal by the Department of Homeland Security to construct the last 5 miles of the Triple Border Fence in San Diego. The Coastal Commission stated that the construction of this fence would destroy miles of sensitive wetlands, home to numerous endangered plant and animal species. HR 418 would allow the Triple Border Fence to be built in San Diego, despite the 100 meter by 5 mile, highway sized swath of environmental destruction it would cause. In addition, this would only cause more migrant people to be forced to cross in the desert, resulting in more deaths. Already over 3,200 migrants have died crossing the US/Mexico border since operation Gatekeeper began in 1994.

As a California State Parks officer said at the protest, "it doesn't matter how many fences we put up, if they want to get through - they'll find a way." Even he understands that the forces driving migration are powerful and that the fence itself will be totally ineffective. As someone who works in the area every day, he says that there isn't much of a need for another fence - as not many people try to cross through that area.

We are GRATEFUL to know that there are people who really care for this poor people crossing the border.. this so called minuteman ARE BLOOD THIRSTY PEOPLE. they are potential MURDERERS that needs to be stop, what they are doing is UNJUST and it is very IGNORANT and SHAMEFUL to the free world in all nations of Latin America and around the world , these so called vigilantes ARE BEASTS... in sheeps clothing under the pretext of patriotism.

For every single person in the Minutemen, who haven’t committed a single crime, how many more people are illegally crossing the border to smuggle drugs, firearms and even human organs and sex slaves into this country, to further fuel violent gang wars, organized crime and the activities of drug cartels? I certainly wouldn't call anyone trying to enforce our immigration laws bloodthirsty or racist. I would call them modern day heros. It is not racist to require legal entry into the US. Anyone who enters our country illegally should be held accountable. What is racist about enforcing the law of the land? No one is allowed into our country with out proper documentation..........why should the people of Mexico be permitted to "jump the fence" without proper documentation? There are 11 million illegals in this country.........with no way to track them......law enforcement has their hands tied..........we should not allow anyone into our country without screening their background.......do we want criminals & drugs crossing back and forth over the border without a monitoring system. Come on.......grow up and use your brains. It is not racist to expect some control......some sort of system in place to monitor who and what is coming into our country. And, this is still our country. We make the rules and the laws and if people from other countries don't like it......tough. And, please, don't try and convince people that the Minutemen are bloodthirsty..........they aren't shooting or hurting anyone. Your article claims that the Minutemen project is violent. I have not read any stories that confirm this assertion. The only thing that the MM have been accused of is detaining an illegal immigrant. They are not suppose to do this. They are only the eyes and ears of the Boarder Patrol. There is no indication however that the illegal immigrant was harmed in any way. If someone can provide proof that the Minutemen are bloodthirsty and violent, then please provide sources. Until then I contend that this website is nothing more then a leftist rag for those devoid of intellectual honesty. Prove me wrong.

I would love to prove you wrong. It is unfortunate that the people crossing are viewed as the drug dealers, kidnappers, sex slaves, etc. It seems to me, however, that this bit of negative attention arises for the same reasons the majority of the innocent people attempt to cross each day. They do it to survive. Please do not get me wrong, I would never in any way condone this illegal activity but they are no different than the people who commit crimes on this side. Of course it's wrong and I would want nothing more than to keep the bad out, but why charge an entire population for a small group of people's actions? Why do they come to this side? They come because this is where the demand is. Yes, it all starts here-on this side. Drugs are smuggled because the demand is on this side. Men and women risk their lives and leave their children at home alone for weeks at a time because the demand for cheap labor is on this side. Young girls are kidnapped and treated as sex slaves because the filthy bastard red-necks who can't get any on their own are ON THIS SIDE! Most of you I'm sure have never heard of these prostitution rings holding girls as young as 7 years old captive-but it's here. Right in San Diego. Why? Once again, because the demand is here.
No, it's not happening along the borders where these Minute Men are. It's happening in Del Mar, Oceanside, Vista, Carlsbad, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Penasquitos... Where are all the MinuteMen at? Are they concerned with enforcing the law, or do they only care about keeping the Mexicans out?

I have an ongoing nightmare that I must share with you.

Nine score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of captivity. But one hundred-forty years later, we must face the tragic fact that the millions of U.S. residents are still not free.

One hundred-forty years later, the life of the resident, undocumented immigrant is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred-forty years later, the undocumented immigrant in the U.S. lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred-forty years later, the undocumented immigrant is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in this, the Promised Land.

So we have come here today to dramatize an appalling condition. In a sense we have come to our nation's conscience to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every immigrant hopeful of U.S. citizenship was to fall heir.

This note was a promise that all men would be guaranteed the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her residents of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the undocumented immigrant population a bad check which has come back marked "insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation.

So we have come to cash this check -- a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed moment to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit paths of citizenship and racial justice. Now is the time to open the doors of opportunity to all of God's children. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksand’s of racial and immigration injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.

It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment and to underestimate the determination of the resident, undocumented immigrant. This sweltering summer of the resident immigrants legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three was not an end, but a beginning. Two thousand five is no different. Those who hope that the resident, undocumented immigrants will refrain from blowing off steam and be silent and content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. There will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the resident, undocumented immigrant is granted his citizenship rights.

The repercussions of oppression will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges. But there is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the undocumented immigrant community must not lead us to distrust all citizens, for many of our citizen brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny and their freedom is inextricably bound to our equality.

We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil and human rights, "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain legitimate employment in the hallways of American commerce and equal access to the classrooms of higher education. We cannot be satisfied as long as the undocumented immigrant’s basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as a resident, undocumented immigrant in California cannot obtain a drivers license and an immigrant desiring citizenship in New York is confined by the belief that he has no where to travel without fear of apprehension. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until the justice contained within the reservoir of systematic immigration reform rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from jobs that pay you less than minimum wage for long hours. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of unthinkable discrimination. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.

Yet, I had a dream nightmare last night.

I went back to California, to Arizona, to Texas, to Colorado, to Georgia.

I went back to the barrios and neighborhoods of our cities where the unconscionable horrors of the oppression of the children of undocumented immigrants remains a blight on the soul of this Nation, knowing that somehow this situation remains unchanged.

I am ashamed that we have allowed God’s children to continue to wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I have a dream nightmare. It is a nightmare deeply rooted in the American dream that yet remains to be fully realized.

I had a dream nightmare that this nation will not rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I had a dream nightmare that one day in the green fields of the San Fernando Valley the sons of former farm workers and the sons of former farm owners will be not be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.

I had a dream nightmare that one day in the employment marketplace of greater Los Angeles that the daughters of former retail, factory and service workers and the daughters of former retail, factory and service firm owners will not be able to look at one another as citizens of equal stature in the eyes of the INS, DMV, IRS and Social Security authorities.

I had a dream nightmare that one day in this country that graduation from high school shall mean that the students will not have equal opportunity to pursue their God given hopes and talents in institutions of higher education, the workforce, and this culture by equal access based upon erasing the institutionalized inequities in our nations immigration laws.

I had a dream nightmare that one day even the state of Arizona, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression for Latinos, will not be transformed into an oasis of freedom, equality and justice. I have a nightmare that all children will never live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, the language of their country of origin or the absence of a Social Security card, but by the content of their character.

I am suffering from the after-effects of a traumatic dream nightmare today.

I have a habitual dream nightmare that one day the state of California, whose governor's lips are presently dripping with the words of insensitivity and indifference, will not be transformed into a situation where little undocumented Latino boys, Asian children and Persian girls will be able to join hands with little boys and girls who are citizens and walk together as sisters and brothers pursuing their hopes for a better future for this nation as equals.

I had a recurring dream nightmare today. I had a dream nightmare that the children of undocumented immigrants will not be found legally innocent of the illegal immigration decision of their parents. I have a persistent dream nightmare today.

I had an incessant dream nightmare that this nation will not remove the blindfold of feigned ignorance and confront the sins that veiled self righteousness have attempted to obscure from our conscience.

I have an ongoing dream nightmare.

I had an unmerciful dream nightmare that one day very soon that the DREAM Act shall not be re-introduced and passed by the United States Congress whereby the children of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. shall be afforded the opportunity to become citizens of this great nation, as they so desperately deserve.

I have an unrelenting dream nightmare. I had a dream nightmare that the day will not arrive when every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

I had a vivid dream nightmare that these horrors shall continue to infect the soul of this nation, unnecessarily calling the character and credibility of our great nation into question in the eyes of the entire world.

I Have A Dream! As a citizen of this great nation, I know we can do better than this. We must do better than this. We shall do better than this. This is my hope. This is the faith with which I return to my community. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free of legalized oppression one day.

I Have A Dream! This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with new meaning, "My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring."

I Have A Dream! And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true. So let freedom ring from the poverty wracked neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Let freedom ring from the boroughs of New York. Let freedom ring from the sweltering state of Arizona. Let freedom ring from the mid-western states! Let freedom ring from the Governors Office in California! But not only that; let freedom ring from every community in every border state! Let freedom ring from every southern state! Let freedom ring from every street in Santa Ana, California. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, Latino men, Asian men, Middle Eastern men, black men, brown men, yellow men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants, Muslims, and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

I Have A Dream! That this nation shall awaken from its’ insensitive slumber, and become reinvigorated by the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I'm so ashamed of my former country and its attitudes about Mexicans not only entering but living legally in the country. I was from Southern California and lived in a city with a large Mexican population -- including my kids, who are half -- and the attitudes against Mexicans then aren't anywhere near what they are today.

I'd like to know where those Minutemen (sounds like a sexual problem to me) came from, meaning what's their ancestry? Everyone came from somewhere else.

What gets me, is that I'd been watching the growing xenophobia and racism escalate and also had my sights on Don Simcox, who upon investigation is a dangerous and evil man.

The MSM gets ahold of this Minutemen project and paints Simcox as a caring, patriotic citizen. BS!!!!

The intolerance of others who don't all look alike is depressing and disgusting. I used to hear that "learn English" bit all the time and never realized it was impossible for some, no matter how hard they tried to learn, because I'm experiencing the same thing here. I cannot learn Portuguese and I get hell for it several times a week. I've tried for 9 years and I'm still at pre-school level.

What's wrong with someone wanting a better life??? I was almost wishing M-13 would duke it with them. They wouldn't last a minute.

Open the borders and dissipate the terrible image America has on the world stage.

The Minutemen has not shown any violence.. "not yet" because they are SCARED ....the WORLD is WATCHING THEM..it's too early and these people are already claiming victory and success, WE WILL WAIT AND SEE.. what there REAL MOTIVES for doing this, TIME WILL TELL and overtime we will see the REAL MOTIVES OF THESE VIGILANTES.

THEY ARE ACTUALLY members of KKK hiding under the cloak of Patriotism.
here's the real meaning for Vigilante- Judge, Jury and EXECUTIONER or a person who inflicts punishment ...( WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING).. so my fellow Americans don't be too lax about them for they are hiding there real motives for now.. BE ON THE LOOK OUT , of these so called Vigilantes.
We don't know what are there other plans in the border, but one thing for SURE, these are WOLVES...(bloodthirsty people) just controlling themselves AND HIDING UNDER THE CLOAK OF PATRIOTISM, THEY WILL PUT AS ALL IN A BAD LIGHT AND WILL SHAME THE U.S. IN THE LONG RUN.

No one with any logical abilities can defend illegal immigration. First of all, it's ILLEGAL and results in a string of unwanted events that will eventually DESTROY the host country. This includes: illegal drug traffic, loyalty to foreign authority, scofflaws, criminals escaping justice in other lands who will ply their trade here, gangs, overburden on the healthcare systems - see bankrupt California and Arizona hospitals for this one, violence increase - the shootings on LA freeways are being done my a Mexican gang according to the NY Times because they need to kill 400 by a certain date, welfare system overburden and a myriad of other problems. Make no mistake bleeding heart, you WILL leave California and not of your own volition if this illegal immigration goes unchecked. I'm from California and have talked with Azatlan members and they are currently putting their people in positions of political power and enabling the border breakers. Then, when enough are in place, you'll be forced out by whatever means necessary. I hope that you like the idea of leaving without selling your home because that is their plan and I must say that it's a plan that will work when you are surrounded by Azlanians that make up 50% or more of your city.

In conclusion, if you support porous borders, you should volunteer to sponsor an illegal and pay their health insurance and give them a room in your house to live. Otherwise, you are just a babbling buffoon and need to shut the hell up. It will be poetic justice when you are forced out of your home and have no legal remedy.

I work in social service with gang populations....illegal immigration contributes to gangs; they are above the law......just like what lawlessness promotes...rape.....theft.....and victimization of citizens of the United States. Liberals have too long been brain washed in our Universities and imagine a utopia where everyone will live together in peace and harmony..when the reality is Bush is weak on the border control to serve big business by supplying those who work under the table. Worse....they work under the table untill they reproduce and that generation finds out there is more money in illegal drugs and larceny.............at the same time, they will compete for scarce resources with cultures such as African Americans who have earned them....wake up!!!!!!

The last thing in the world that the economic and political elite of either country, Mexico or the U.S., wants are the Mexican citizens that are coming north in search of a better life to remain in Mexico and demand and seize their right to good government,land and freedom which means control over their own lives and taking that control out of the hands of coruppt officials and corporations.

The Mexicans who are coming north seeking a better way of life may be doing the right thing for themselves personally but in the final analysis in seeking this better way of life they are hurting the
poor and disenfranchised of Mexico who cannot come north and are benefiting the greedy elite in both Mexico and the U.S.

Most of the Mexicans immigrants that I personally know are settling down well to the Middle Class American lifestyle. They are buying mass produced track homes, gas guzzling SUV's,working, getting in hock, paying taxes and propping up the Mexican economy by sending money back to Mexico. All of which is just fine if one belives in modern corporate capitalism or hopes otherwise to keep the status quo going. Or possibly if one wants to preempt what is possibly the greatest opportunity for a participatory democratic decentralized revolution in the world today. Yes giving Mexico's poor a taste of the American lifestyle is indeed a fine way to instill middle class values into the traditionally politically volitile Mexican poor. Mexico occupies a unique position in the world. It is the only third world country to border a developed nation. Let alone the worlds most powerful military/industrial/political complex. Think about this for a moment because I assure you that on both sides of the border the powers that be are thinking about it and not only are they thinking about it but at this point they are actively manipulating the situation in their favor.

Saying this American activists should be encouraging Mexicans to organize to get rid of the corrupt government of Mexico and not encouraging them to run north in search of a bourgeois lifestyle that quite probably isn't sustainable except at the cost of global imperialism. However considering the brutality that the Mexican government deals with it's own activists and considering the fact that the U.S. government has a history of intervention in third world liberation struggles we activists in the U.S. need to be ready to put our butts on the line in order to actively try and prevent this. In saying this I'm not implying that we need to take up arms against either the U.S. or Mexican governments, undoubtedly we should refrain from that until they themselves make anyother course impossible. But we should be getting ready to engage in acts of civil disobedience to counter them, possibly on such a scale that it would treaten the the U.S. and Mexican economies if it comes down to that, after all to an enlightended society human lives are more important then money. However does the amount of organization necessary for this exists among actvists right now?

Its sad people are hurt and killed crossing the border illegally.Immigration policy is to blame.But to open our borders to people coming in unregulated is a mistake.I live in a small southern oregon community where meth is a big problem.It destroys good people and no amount of resticting over the counter cold medication,is going to slow the epidemic.Not as long as people flow across are vastly unprotected border.most meth comes out of mexico,Where the cemicals to make are legal.

Immigrants have no right to simply enter the US and become a burden on our society. And they do become a burden because if they are coming in illigally they are offering nothing. education, monetary assets, skills, they have none of these things. They all come driven by thier own governments promise of work and US business desire for them. THe border must be secured. Businesses should be forced to use a US workforce even if that means increased wages and benifits. A company that is willing to take advantage of poor immigrants does not deserve pity or special consideration. If nothing more at least strenghten a work permit system and enforce the termination of those permits. I saw the other day about a african who's work permit ended and he was deported. Many in his community were sad but the government first thought of rule of law. I commend then for doing so. Even letting one illigal slip through the cracks sends a message to all other illigals that they are not doing something wrong. We must close off the borders as best as possible, not treat them as a joke. Many of these Immigrants dont even have an interest in being US citizens (not all of them but many). Thier main goal is to get as much money as they can and leave. Illigals are a drain on our economy. When they are unsucsessful finding work in the US they live on US benifits meant for "US citizens." Im sick of walking into grocery stores to find some person obviously an illigal buying grocerys with stamps. What Mexico is doing is throwing thier poverty problems on the US. The US is Mexico's welfare system this is wrong!! CLose The Borders and keep them that way. When you consider all the legal immigrants and how hard they work to get into the US and benifit from our system, what illigals do is a slap in thier face. OUr immigration policies are fair and just. I challenge anyone to find a reason to disagree. We say now immigration is not a problem now but it will be. The US has worked for over 300 years to make an economy, a government, a democracy, superior to any in the world. illigal immigration saps at the strength of our nation. Dont let illigal immigration destroy what has taken hundreds of years to create.

As a (believe it or not)fully legal immigrant from el salvador I am offended by illigal immigration in this country. I worked for two years to complete my naturalization and I am so excited to be a new citizen. I am now married and have two kids. I am disturbed by the many illigals I see in my neighborhood here in california. Whats more disturbing is im not the only recently legal immigrant that feels that way. I think there is a silent support from legal immigrants for protecting the borders. I dont believe in cruelity but I think immigrants are breaking US laws and should be treated as lawbreakers. I think as Americans we hear stories about the floods of european immigrants that came in the 18th and 19th centuries and we say why is illigal immigration from latin America wrong. But there is a huge difference. Those waves of europeans followed the law, procedures, and rather then working around the laws and society integrated with and enriched US society. I am disturbed by many hispanic immigrants who feel this land belongs to them and that they can simply be a different culture on the fringe of the US. When I immigrated here 12 years ago I wanted to fully embrace my new home and its culture. I did not drop my own at the door but I was willing to blend and integrate my culture with one already here. I feel this hostility to the US culture is wrong. All other waves of immigrants have contributed to this culture in food dance style and other cultural traits, not simply tried to completely seperate it. Some hispanics dont want to integrate they want be seperate in the same country while enjoying the benifits of the country. I think illigals create a stigma against legals that is hard to rub off. There are so many that come in illigally that we who have legal residence are sidelined and our efforts forgotten. I think hispanics are set to be the next italians, irish, of the new millinium. Already hispanic sucsess is growing. The progression of hispanics that have been here for hundreds of years have even become barely distinguished from early US settlers of the west. They recognize themselves only as United States citizens and yet have managed to integrate some of thier old culture into the US culture. Thier sucsess gives me hope. But sucsess cannot be built on lawlessness. A foundation like that will surely make our rise a weak one. We must recognize our ability to integrate and offer our culture into an already rich one. We must respect the laws and in that belief close the borders from illigals who break them simply by entering. I think many legal immigrants agree but they must speak before they will be heard.
