Youth in San Diego need to rise up to fight for our rights!!! We have some of the crappiest schools in the nation without enough textbooks, and with dirty bathroom facilities. Police and migra are harassing us in our communities and military recruiters harass us at school. The governor is cutting all of the money from education, but juvenile incarceration rates go up every minute! Its time to fight back!

This conference will address all of these issues, and what we as young people can do to fight for our lives, for our rights, for our present and for our future!!
We will address issues such as Inequalities in Education, Media & the War on Youth, Women in Social Movements, Zapatismo, Organizing with Gangs, the War on Iraq & Counter-Military Recruitment. We’ll also have workshops on how to ORGANIZE to fight for JUSTICE in our communities, and in the world.

After the conference, we’ll have a rock/ska concert and a dance (with hip-hop, rock, reggae, ranchero & all kinds of music).

This conference is organized by and for youth of color and youth from low-income communities in San Diego, but everyone is welcome!!

Please Don't Feed the Trolls

Wikipedia defines an Internet Troll as: "either a person who sends messages on the Internet hoping to entice other users into angry or fruitless responses, or a message sent by such a person." San Diego IMC strives to provide both a grassroots media resource as well as a forum for people to contribute to a meaningful discussion about local issues. Please, when posting comments, be respectful of others and ignore those trying to interrupt or discourage meaningful discourse. Thank you.
