Over the past week, the San Diego activist community has been the target of an intense campaign of harassment by federal law enforcement agencies. At least 9 activists have been subpoenaed for a federal Grand Jury, three of whom will be testifying before the jury tomorrow. Such individuals include Michael Cardenas, a media activist and volunteer for RadioActive San Deigo and San Diego Indy Media, as well as the coalition against borders and the minutemen and the Organic Collective; Colleen Dietzle, owner of the San Diego Green Store; Rob Ruckus; and members of Activist San Diego.
Grand Juries are often used as an attempt to "break the movement" and generate mistrust among communities fighting for social Justice and positive social change. Its is a means of waiving the rights of citizens to force them to share information on one another.
Show your support for your fellow activists by coming down to the court house tomorrow. Let them know that this Mc Carthian form of intimidation will not stand!
Dissent should not be criminalized!

How did you find out Rob got subpoenaed? Is he still around? Last I heard he had moved to Australia.
