no human is illegal!
no border is legitimate!
no racism is justified!

these are some of the base demands that brought over 150 people together on the weekend of july 16th, 2005. setting up camp along an unpaved road just a few minutes walk from the border that separates the united states from mexico. protesters spent their time engaging vigilantes, discussing strategy, and building political and personal alliances to combat a growing confidence among and acceptance of white supremacists.

Add to these photos, and their captions, some of the noon march with 150 people and of the final face off at the VFW, and you have a picture of what creative, militant, but also all-embracing, actions made up Campo this weekend.

Oh those meetings...but some good did indeed come out of them.
