On Friday, armed paramilitaries attacked a barricade of The Popular Assembly of the Peoples of Oaxaca (APPO), killing NYC Indymedia reporter Brad Will and injuring photographer Oswaldo Ramírez of the daily Milenio. Video footage from Will's camera was used to identify the attackers, Abel Santiago Zárate and Juan Carlos Soriano Velasco from the local police and PRI politicians Manuel Aguilar and Pedro Carmona (Will's assassin). In a separate incident later in the day, Oaxacan schoolteacher Emilio Alfonso Fabián and resident Esteban López Zurita were killed. In paramilitary attacks on friday, a total of four people were murdered, thirty wounded and several abducted.

Vincente Fox, President of Mexico, has used the paramilitary attacks organized by his PRI partners as a pretext for sending the Federal Preventative Police (PFP) to Oaxaca to suppress the five month APPO resistance movement, which has occupied sections of the central city and government buildings, demanding the resignation of the corrupt PRI governor Ulises Ruiz Ortiz, the release of political prisoners and the end of repression in Oaxaca.

Radio APPO (english translation) and Narco News are reporting that the PFP has advanced through Oaxaca City into the city center, removing barricades and reoccupying government buildings, including city hall. APPO has requested nonviolent resistance only. Violent attacks on government forces by provocateurs have been reported.

Allegedly non violence

Police forces have been created by societies to enforce law and protect civilians from criminals. Crominals who steal, kidnap, destroy and beat up so-called offenders to APPO requests. Criminals who have destroyed Oaxaca's normal life, job-generating tourism and peace. Just imagine how would you call a group who takes Central Park and alloows no one but their friends to enter, and that claims that no police action must be taken. APPO is a guerrilla, and (we)mexicans are really tired of crominals being treated as ideologists instead of being taken to jail.

Gonzalo Aleman Migliolo of the PRI?

Mr.Aleman are you one and the same Mr. Gonzalo Alemán Migliolo of the PRI? E-mail address  gonzalo.aleman@congreso.gob.mx

If so then you post is understandable and yet I doubt that you fool anyone here with your hypocritical hyperbole. Those with even a basic understanding of the situation in Mexico and Oaxaca understand that it is your party, your formal government and your police and military forces that are in fact the main criminal element in Oaxaca and Mexico.

Why is it that certain members of an entirely non-violent organization such as the CIPO-RFM are forced into political exile due to fears for their life after meerly speaking out about the activities of the PRI and it's local leaders?

Your bad government can still dish out repression and persecute unarmed protestors struggling for a more humane life, as it did back in the Tlatelolco Massacre of 1968, but you can't hide the truth so easily anymore.

Mr. Aleman: If you care you've got work to do

Central Parks and Plazas belong to the people either for a Sunday picnic or more importantly when their lives are made miserable by the inefficient, corrupt, no-good, lying elite economic manipulators.

As a Mexican are you proud of how your country can't educate, feed or provide for its people, despite how rich in resources your nation is?

Why do your people come here instead? Thanks to people like you who complain they can't picnic in the park but don't admit why. During the Boston Tea Party or the Mexican Independence it's no tough guess whose side you'd be on!
If it matters to you: Stop the repression and corruption, get your country to work and STOP coming HERE!

Make your country worth living in for your own people. Invite the tourists when your house is in order and you don't have to keep sweeping lies under the rug.
