Vincente Fox has sent the Federal Preventative Police (PFP) to Oaxaca to suppress the five month APPO resistance movement, which has occupied sections of the central city and government buildings, demanding the resignation of the corrupt PRI governor Ulises Ruiz Ortiz, the release of political prisoners and the end of repression in Oaxaca.

if anyone can go out to the solidarity campout and rally any time between now and tomorrow afternoon, it would help so much. a small group of 10-30 people held their ground tonight in the face of serious aggression from the mexican consulate authorities and police, including the police detaining two protesters, handcuffed in their car, threatening to arrest them. fortunately, both of them were released, but the police were eager to show their willingness to use force against people simply holding signs on the *sidewalk*!!!
please come out and if you can bring food or water, that helps. signs help too. and a determination to support the people of oaxaca and oust ulysses ruiz helps a ton also.
