Mondotti Letizia Argenteri, professor of history at Mesa College, spoke at Casa del Libro bookstore in Hillcrest September 10 to introduce her new biography of Tina Modotti (1896-1942), "Tina Modotti: Between Art and Revolution." A tailor, model, actress, photographer, Communist and active revolutionary in 1920's Mexico and 1930's Spain, Modotti knew Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, and, like them, she lived on the uneasy boundary between art and activism.

Saturday the 23rd the S/he collective brought together an extravaganza of Art and Activism. Throughout the day there were several great dance, music, poetry and comedy performances. There were tables set up with handmade wears, activist organizations, artwork, and some that mixed a little together a bit of everything.
