The war on dissent
bruce,

Demonstrators are asked to march alongside Gordon Brown, wearing white, and to stay on-message. Don't mention the war. Ditto for any critique of capitalism. Suggestions that G8 policy, far from alleviating poverty, is a direct cause of it, are not welcome. That constitutes "bad" protest. Shut up. Disappear. Stay at home.

Why impeaching Bush is so needed
bruce,

Simply stated, the foreign policy that has been a basis for intervention in other nation's affairs that do NOT constitute a threat to the U.S. has been ongoing since World War II and must stop if the U.S. is to truly be a 'beacon of democracy and freedom'.

The CAFTA deceptions
bruce,

Thea Lee, the AFL-CIO's chief international economist summed it up thus: "What really is the goal is to increase the mobility, flexibility and profitability of multinational corporations, and if that's the yardstick it's worked beautifully" - but to the detriment of American workers.

Failure to defend the Constitution is Grounds for Impeachment!
The Supreme Court recently ruled in favor of private profiteers have the right to force a property owner off their land because they say its in the Public interest. The Constitution says governbment can take land for public use. The President says "respect the Supreme court" I say, impeach both faster than they can declare martial law.

Microsoft Slavery May be Ending Due to Dumpin
Pork Cutler,

The Spirit of MOBILIS!
The popular technology website Slashdot has picked up an Indymedia article that has created quite a stir (100s of comments). Slashdot said:

"This is an interesting point made by a Clayton Hallmark on IndyMedia out of Argentina. He predicts that cheap Asian computing appliances with an Open Source Operating System on a chip will be the ultimate MS killer. References to the US$220 Mobilis out of India suggest the begining of newer, more powerful, and cheaper things to come. Mr. Hallmark also points to the success of the Wal-Mart cheap PC as proof the end is near for proprietory software. Overall an in interesting and thought provoking read."

BIG NEWS ON MICROSOFT: Slavery to It Is Endin
Clayton Hallmark,

Scientist holds full-fledged all-electronic computer, at last. Mass-produced computers can KILL Microsoft. They'll be too cheap to accommodate MS Windows -- MS's bread and butter. Computers will go the way of TVs and VCRs -- cheap offshore production. They'll be cheap, simple, general-purpose (free software), all-electronic (no disk drive)-- in other words, real electronic computers, finally. The opening shot was fired in Bangalore India on May 16, 2005.

Nuclear weapons and humans cannot coexist: A
Taniguchi Sumiteru/People's Weekly World,

When 60 years ago the United States became the first (and since then the only) country to use atomic weapons by dropping them on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, hundreds of thousands of people were killed. Those at the hypercenter, or ground zero, were the “lucky” ones — they were instantly vaporized. Others died, but not instantly, living their last moments in pain and misery. Their flesh melting off, many perished while looking for water to ease their suffering.
