Kerry & Bush are both of Skull and Bones...
love,
A little-known fact unites Democratic frontrunner John Kerry and President Bush: they are both members of Yale's secret society Skull and Bones. President George W. Bush, past president Bush senior and his father are all three proven initiates of this occult lodge based at a windowless mausoleum on the Yale campus. Why did John Kerry suddenly surge as the frontrunner?

POLICE AT WTO 1999 COST SEATTLE $250,000
Kirsten Anderberg,
In a time when Seattle is in deep need of money for its schools, etc., we are paying $250,000, and rightly so, to protesters who were grotesquely violated at the WTO protests in 1999. And Seattle did not learn from that riot, as it produced two more...

Capitalism: Is Capitalism The Problem Or Is I
Gabrielle Reilly,
I write this article for people much like myself, idealistic and desiring a fairer, more stable world with less violence, less starvation, equal rights... you get the picture. Throughout the quest of searching for solutions I evolved from being purely idealistic, and more often than not counter productive, to finding practical applications based on successful models that have actually been implemented and utilized around the world. That?s the whole point isn?t it? Not just to fight for ?something? but to actually improve ?something? for the greater good of mankind.

Self-Defense Against Riot Police?
Kirsten Anderberg, c/o lotus,
reposted from http://www.ftaaimc.org/or/2003/12/3346.shtml
What does legal self-defense against riot police look like? Rob Thaxton, in jail in Salem, Or., 8 years, for what seems to be self-defense in Eugene Reclaim the Streets protest. 231 protesters criminally charged in Miami at FTAA protests, 0 cops charged. Prosecutors are friends with cops. Judge in Miami says witnessed 20+ felonies by police with own eyes. No 911 response while we are assaulted by riot police. Tacoma Police Chief rapes you, where do you turn? How do we protect ourselves from police?

Wolfowitz Freezes Out War Opponents from Iraq
Los Angeles Times & Paul Wolfowitz,
The Bush unilateralists strike again! A December 9 memo from Paul Wolfowitz on the Rebuilding Iraq Web site announces that only companies from countries that supported the U.S. aggression against Iraq will be allowed to compete for contracts to rebuild the country. Not surprisingly, representatives from France, Germany, Canada and other countries that opposed the war are upset and are threatening to sue the U.S. at the World Trade Organization to have the ban declared an illegal restraint of trade. (So the WTO has some uses after all!)

Miami: A Dangerous Victory
Starhawk, c/o lotus,
For those of us who participated in the protests against the FTAA, the Free Trade Area of the Americas, in Miami the third week in November, it?s a bit hard to feel victorious. We are bruised, battered, worried
about companeros still in jail, and grieving for the Jordan Feder, a young medic who died of meningitis after the action. We?ve been harassed, arrested, tear gassed, pepper sprayed, hit, beaten, assaulted,
lied about, and in some cases literally tortured and sexually assaulted in jail, and we?ve stared directly into the naked red gaze of the New American Fascism.

The Information Wars Have Begun
lotus,
In the United States, the FBI is raiding homes for videotapes and computers containing contraband information, detaining people indefinitely for not divulging their personal information, and arresting people for illegally spreading information. The information wars are raging around us. In Venezuela, the media played a major role in overturning the US backed coup.
This week the UN World Summit on the Information Society takes place from December 10th-12th, 2003. As the heads of governments decide how to further restrict the flow of information to allow them to retain control, people are meeting in their own democratic, self-organized counter summit, WSIS, We Seize!.
Topics covered in the forum include migrant workers and the information society, the link between freedom of communication and freedom of movement, and autonomous media. Videos shown will include the documentary "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" and a film on infowar techniques used in Miami.
There will be live audio and video streams from the conference, and you can participate in the forums online, via chat rooms.
