Center Organizes Meeting to Protest Grossmont School Censorship of Queer Issues

The Lesbian and Gay Mens Community Center hosted a meeting April 1 to discuss the controversy in the Grossmont school district. Not only are Queer students being threatened and harassed in Grossmonts high schools, but a radical-Right school board majority and school staff members have made it clear they regard any effort to stop this harassment as promoting homosexuality. The Center and its supporters are upset not only at the Grossmont school board and staff but also at the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which allowed their anti-discrimination video to be stripped of all references to homosexuality in order to get it shown in Grossmont schools.
