Dan Brown,
|
Contact UNMOVIC, IAEA, the Secretary-General, and the permanent members of the UN Security Council!
Complete contact information included!
Suggested points to make:
1. Get the inspectors back in Iraq as soon as possible and REJECT US attempts to STOP Iraq weapons inspections!
2..Reject US attempts to turn Iraqi inspections into a "poison pill" with new UN resolutions that Iraq can't accept, giving US an excuse to invade Iraq.

Randall Hamud: Arab-American Attorney Warns of Loss of U.S. Democracy
Mark Gabrish Conlan/Zenger's Newsmagazine,
|
Randall B. Hamud, Arab-American attorney in San Diego, spoke to the Peace and Democracy Task Force of the First Unitarian-Universalist Church in Hillcrest September 24. He accused the U.S. government of a take-no-prisoners attitude towards Arab and Muslim Americans, aimed more at driving them out of the country than actually catching the handful of them who might be engaged in terrorism. Hamud also argued that his community is being racially profiled, and that the U.S. governments hard-line attitude both at home and abroad with the PATRIOT Act as well as the threatened war on Iraq is part of a long-term plan to get rid of American democracy and civil rights and further its imperial ambitions worldwide.

Transcript of Medical Marijuana Giveaway, San Diego Community Concourse, 9/17/02
Mark Gabrish Conlan (transcriber),
|
On September 17, 2002, Steve McWilliams and Kelly Harvey of Shelter from the Storm led a free medical marijuana giveaway to licensed medical users in the Community Concourse near San Diego City Hall. The action was part of a statewide series of solidarity events in connection with the September 6 raid on a medical marijuana provider in Santa Cruz, and though a DEA spokesperson said the timing was "coincidence," McWilliams is convinced the September 24 raid on his own marijuana garden was DEA and local law enforcement's retaliation against him for sponsoring this action.

Bowling for Columbine: Michael Moores Nerviest Film Yet
Mark Gabrish Conlan/Zenger's Newsmagazine,
|
Michael Moore's new film, "Bowling for Columbine," which opens in San Diego at Landmark Hillcrest Cinemas October 25, is his most bitter and cynical work yet. Inspired by the April 1999 murders of 12 students and one teacher at Columbine High School in Colorado, and modified in mid-production to include references to September 11, Moore's film lacks the faith of his previous movies in the goodness of the American people and portrays them as nearly as warped as their governmental and corporate leaders.
