The future of humanity
Anthony Allen Quaker and peace activist,
Now I know you have a short attention span, you don't like to read, and you are easily offended, but just bear with me for a minute. Oh that's right you especially don't like to listen to anyone who isn't an American. Well guess what Australia just became the 51st state, so that makes me an American now too and I am just as complicit in the crimes against humanity our governments are committing as you are.

Amy Goodman Speaks in San Diego Nov. 5
Mark Gabrish Conlan/Zenger's Newsmagazine,
While the estimate of 1,500 in the audience published elsewhere on this Web site seems inflated, Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman's first appearance in San Diego Nov. 5 at the First Unitarian-Universalist Church in Hillcrest did more than fill every seat in a 600-seat hall and drew an enthusiastic crowd. Her rambling but intense presentation was mostly a critique of the corporate media and a call for independent journalists and activists to stay committed in the face of the Nov. 2 electoral defeat.

150 March Downtown in "Beyond Voting" Nov. 3
Mark Gabrish Conlan/Zenger's Newsmagazine,
A "Beyond Voting" rally and march in San Diego November 3, part of a nationwide mobilization in 36 cities planned before the election and designed to put pressure on whoever won and stress the need for activism rather than relying on the ballot box, drew nearly 150 people for a march from the waterfront to the NBC Channel 39 headquarters at Horton Plaza. Though the mobilizers were nonpartisan the mood at the event was considerably angrier than it would have been if Bush hadn't won.

The Will of the People Will Not Be Expressed
duko,
There is a big problem.
Millions of people are looking at the U.S. presidential election as
a crucial turning point in world events. And at the same time the
workings of this system have worked coldly to stifle their voices and
choices.
As Bob Avakian, the leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party,
says in the online talk Elections: Democracy and Dictatorship,
Resistance and Revolution: "Many people want this election to
be a referendum about the Bush program and in particular the whole war
program, the whole juggernaut of war and repression, this rolling
monster that’s unfolding. Well, this election, as [the media and
politicians] are telling us, will be a referendum on war, but
not in the way we might like and many people who want to vote for Kerry
would wish. It is, as they are saying explicitly, going to be a
referendum on who could be the best commander in chief ,

Raising our heads at a Historic Moment time
duko,
Bob Avakian has been working intensely to wrench something different out of this
moment—and to raise the sights of us all to the ways and possibilities of
doing that.
In Elections: Democracy and Dictatorship, Resistance and Revolution he really
dissects the current situation around the election. He breaks down why Bush is
doing what he is doing and why Kerry is doing what he is doing—how they are
both "auditioning" for who can be the best commander-in-chief to
represent the larger interests of the U.S. monopoly imperialist ruling class;
and why being confined by the terms and logic of this election is very dangerous
for the people.

Good-hearted Christians are rising up against Bush's compassionless regime of fear, greed, and arrogant imperialism. Vote Against War, in the streets
Djette,
VOTE AGAINST WAR Nov. 3rd ...in the streets... 4pm rally and press conference at the USS Midway one block south of Broadway on Harbor Drive 5pm march into downtown
Regardless of the outcome of the presidential election, the United States is embroiled in a war in Iraq. The ORGANIC Collective encourages political participation beyond simply voting on election-day. Once the votes are cast on November 2nd, political engagement and discourse should not end. It becomes even more necessary for all people to voice opinions on the issues that affect us all. Any individual or group that desires to participate is encouraged to. The more different groups participate with different takes on the general idea, the better.
