Trouble in the Ranks
duko,
p>Private Jeremiah Adler wrote home on his sixth day in Army boot
camp:
"’I am so fucked up right now... I feel that if I
stay here much longer I am not going to be the same person anymore.
I have to GO. Please help... Every minute you sit at home I am
stuck in a shithole, stripped of self-respect, pride, will, hope,
love, faith, worth, everything. Everything I have ever held dear
has been taken away. This fucks with your head... This makes you
believe you ARE worthless shit. Please help. By the time you get
this, things will be worse.’"
Shortly after writing this, his unit was scheduled to ship out,
and Jeremiah went AWOL (absent without leave).

Saul Landau Shows Syria Movie in San Diego
Mark Gabrish Conlan/Zenger's Newsmagazine,
Filmmaker Saul Landau presented his new movie, "Syria: Between Iraq and a Hard Place," at the First Unitarian-Universalist Church March 16. In a post-film discussion he talked about the situation in Lebanon and how it's being misrepresented by the U.S. media and about the surprising, though limited, degree of political and social openness he and his crew found in Syria. Also on the program was UCSD professor Jorge Mariscal of Project YANO, a group to make young people in high school and college aware of the information about being in the military they're not getting from recruiters.

YES!: Israeli professor gives ADL the finger!
JA,
Hebrew University Israeli history professor Moshe Zimmerman compares Israel's IDF (military) to the Nazis! Conservative kneejerk gadfly Jewish ADL -- Zionist domestic spy & harassment organization -- head Abe Foxman butts in, as usual, to demand apology. (Many prominent Jews, both contemporary and historical figures, have compared Israel/Zionism/IDF to *NAZIS*!) Israeli history professor Moshe Zimmerman retorts: "Regarding the involvement of ... [Abe] Foxman in the affair, he says, "I don't have to respond to every barking dog in the street"! A comment that's long overdue!

93 Percent Favor Limits on Civil Liberties
posted by Mark Gabrish Conlan,
A poll currently being taken on the PBS Web site reveals that, even among viewers of the "NOW" program (one of the few oases of genuine progressive politics on the "public" airwaves), an overwhelming 93 percent favor limits on civil liberties in the wake of 9/11 and the "war on terror." 82 percent said "we must use whatever means necessary to fight terrorism," and another 11 percent said, "yes, I'm willing to give up some freedoms for safety." Only 4 percent said, "no, safeguarding [civil liberties] is more important than ever." BE VERY AFRAID.

Good vs. Evil

The machine of empire rolls on not only unchecked but, it has millions of willing accomplices cheerleading it's efforts. These cheerleaders are the ordinary Americans who swallow the lies from their leaders and it's propaganda arm aka "Corporate Media", without question.
