Decruitment efforts across America is working

There's an effort underway across the United States to put a stop to military recruiting for all branches of the military. Under a brutal regime that has invaded innocent countries and indiscriminately slaughtered over 100,000 innocent Iraqis, a regime which has consistantly committed treason against the people of the United States starting with a hijacked election and "USA PATRIOT Act," the military acts as a conduit linking Iraq's oil to Exxon/Mobile and the American tax payer's dollars straight into the coffers of Dick Cheney's Halliburton.

The national decruitment effort is working to put an end to that conduit. Without people willing to murder Iraqi babies and not willing to die for Halliburton's owners, the fascist regime will be unable to hold control of Iraqs oil as the people of Iraq continue to fight for their lives, their children's lives, and their country.

Since the fascist regime always targets poor minorities in what's known as "the economic draft," decruitment efforts have sharply focused on keeping blacks and others with dark skin from signing on to murder others with dark skin.

And the effort is working.

The San Diego Coalition to Stop the Genocide in Sudan held two events on Thursday, July 21 to build local awareness of the continuing crisis in Sudan: a rally at the Civic Center at noon and a vigil at a North Park church at 7 p.m. Most of the speakers at the vigil were Sudanese immigrants who discussed the genocidal conditions in their home country and their difficulties in assimilating in the U.S. At least one speaker also said that President Bush had helped push the Muslim-dominated government of Sudan to negotiate with the country's Christian populations, and said that the prayers of Sudanese-Americans had helped Bush beat Kerry in last year's election.

Special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald appears to have a slam-dunk case under Title 18, Sec. 641, USC (which is NOT about outing a covert agent) just as the DOJ did for leaker Jonathan Randel, who got a year in prison. Karl Rove was abandoned by both of his parents -- the man he called Dad left home, Rove found out "Dad" wasn't his father after all (his aunt and uncle "outed" this at the dinner table), and his mother committed suicide.

The British play "Guantánamo: 'Honor Bound to Defend Freedom'" was presented in a staged reading at the First Unitarian-Universalist Church July 12. Drawn exclusively from testimony from Guantánamo detainees and public statements by defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld and other officials, the play brings a human dimension to the allegations of torture and abuse of the Guantánamo prisoners by the U.S. military. After the play, local attorney and law professor Marjorie Cohn led a discussion which touched on recent allegations in the "New Yorker" that the abuses at Guantánamo are part of a deliberate psychological strategy to wear down the prisoners and get them to talk.
