San Diegans Take to the Street to Say No to War!
San Diego,

Stories from the street: Critical Mass | This is What Democracy Looks Like | Survivors speak

Protests around the world

Thousands of San Diego's concerned citizens took to the streets to exercise their rights to object to the Bush regime's objectives in Iraq and the world. Remembering the one year anniversity of the carnage in the middle-east which has claimed almost 600 american dead, over 3500 wounded, and probably 10,000 Iraqi dead, whom have been "sanitized" with the discription of "collateral damage". The failure of the american media to cover this human misery in any depth is only part of the travesty. The manipulation and complicity of the media under the guise of patriotism has keep the real story from the american voting public.

So the people took to the streets today, while keeping in mind that the so called "Patriot Act" has among its aims the elimination of just this type of dissent. Starting at the Federal Courthouse in downtown San Diego, the first small group was joined en route by several other groups, until a crowd of about 3,000 entered Balboa park to hear testimony from mothers of deceased Iraqi war veterans, peace activists, and ordinary citizens opposed to the current U.S. policy of world domination by force for U.S. corporate profit.

BushRumsfeld targeted Iraq NOT Afghan on 9-11
Reuters AP,

Richard Clarke, a former White House advisor, has revealed that on the day after the attack on the World Trade Center, Bush and Rumsfeld wanted to retaliate against Iraq -- even though they knew Iraq wasn't responsible! Clarke recounts that Rumsfeld said, "There aren't any good targets in Afghanistan and there are lots of good targets in Iraq."!!

The ongoing US war and occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq and US funding for Israel's occupation of Palestine form the backdrop of the theme of the demonstration: "STOP the WAR: End the Occupation of Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan".

The Usual Suspects, Fascists.
Lloyd Hart,

Aznar's Popular Party (being the haven of the Franco fascists just as the Christian Democrats in Germany became the haven of Nazis after World War Two) more than likely contracted the men arrested through their handlers (the Bush regime) to plant the bombs that went off Thursday in Spain in an attempt to shift a weakening or possible loss for the Popular Party in the Spanish parliament to a resounding victory for the Popular Party by blaming the attacks on the militant Basque separatists, the ETA.

Nancy Snow on U.S. Propaganda Wars
Mark Gabrish Conlan/Zenger's Newsmagazine,

Americans aren’t used to the idea that they are either the victims or the perpetrators of propaganda, says Nancy Snow, senior research fellow in the University of Southern California Center on Public Diplomacy and assistant professor of communications at California State University, Fullerton. But the truth, as she explained to an audience of about 100 at the First Unitarian-Universalist Church in Hillcrest March 10, is that the U.S. has had an active government propaganda arm aimed both here and abroad at least since 1917.

Dissecting the Electable Mr. Kerry
posted by Pipard,

It is hard to pin down John Kerry. You can slice and dice all his positions. You can lay them down on the table and compare them (inch by inch) with the notorious and hated wartime president.

But that approach doesn't get to the heart of the matter--which is that people are told to think that only two things really (supposedly) matter:

First, John Kerry is not George W. Bush.

And, second, John Kerry is electable, meaning he can (potentially, conceivably) beat George W. Bush.
