| KOBE and a Mysterious E-Mail from Neal Tabachnick Author: Stephen DeVoy Stephen DeVoy is the editor of: SOMEWHERE IN CYBERSPACE: By now, most IndyMedia readers are familiar with the anti-Arab/anti-Muslim hate organization known as KOBE. KOBE targets Internet forums with hate posts denigrating Arabs and Muslims. KOBE targets anarchists as well, I know because I am one of their targets. Documentation of KOBE activities has been published on the new website KOBE EXPOSED. Over the last few days I received a series of hate mails. These hate mails falsely imply that I am anti-Semitic. I've been targeted by such hate mails since I dared to publish articles critical of the policies of the Israeli Government. Experience has shown me that most of these hate mails originate with the KOBE organization. The contents of the messages range from claims that the JDL is after to me to specific death threats. Given that I have a long history of opposing injustice and fascism, I find these attacks by KOBE members to be absurd. I found the most recent hate mail interesting because it came from an ISP that I've had trouble with before. For many months, an individual using the ATTBI Internet designation has been posting defamatory material on various Internet forums, much of it targeting me. A user of ATTBI has been repeatedly visiting my websites with a frequency that indicates either obsession or a mediocre Denial of Service attack. Consequently, I took special care in examining this recent sequence of hate mails. Often there is a wealth of information in the header of an e-mail. This information is not visible from your typical e-mail interface. One must explicitly decide to view the header. The header of which I write was not spoofed. There is no contradiction in the sequence of IP addresses through which it passed that would lead me to the conclusion that it had been faked. The header claims to have originated from Neal Tabachnick. I don't watch low quality movies, so I was unfamiliar with this name. Out of curiosity, I typed it into Google and found that Neal Tabachnick is a screen play writer (among other things). Most importantly, he coauthors his screen plays with Jan Skrentny. Jan Skrentny is a name I am familiar with. In an effort to determine the source of various attacks against my websites, I spent a day going over the logs and investigating any IP addresses that I found interesting. One of these IP addresses led me to a domain associated with Jan Skrentny. Seeing that he was a sci-fi writer, I decided not to block him. After all, I had no reason to believe that any sci-fi writers have been harassing me. I found the association between Skrentny and Tabachnick interesting in that it appears that Skrentny has visited my websites and that a hate mail, purporting to belong to Tabachnick, had arrived in my e-mailbox. It would be a strange coincidence if there were not more to this. Further searching on the name "Neal Tabachnick" led me to this article posted on the La Voz de Aztlan. La Voz de Aztlan, like my websites, has a long history of being targeted with harassment from Zionists. In the aforementioned article, La Voz de Aztlan reports having received an harassing mail from one Neal Tabachnick. Skrentny and Tabachnick have the distinction of being nominated for the worst screen play category at the Golden Raspberry Awards for their work Driven, a film by Sylvester Stallone. Neal Tabachnick lives in Culver City. At least one other member of KOBE is known to live in Culver City. A cluster of KOBE members extends from Culver City to Marina Del Rey. Another cluster of KOBE members includes Harbor City, Carson and Palos Verdes. KOBE's website is hosted by Computers NLA of Harbor City, California. Returning to KOBE, one of the individuals harassing me for my political writings uses the name KOBE SCREENPASS. KOBE SCREENPASS has posted defaming and libelous statement about me on Boston's IndyMedia website (e.g. false accusations of being a child molester and other vile garbage typical of the JDL crowd). This individual has delighted in a KOBE prank involving Bill O'Reilly. A KOBE member using the name KOBE Prankster, claimed to have an inside connection with O'Reilly. He has claimed to use this inside connection to get O'Reilly to read on the air a defamatory forged e-mail, reported by O'Reilly to be from me, though I have never sent him an e-mail (see Bill O'Reilly Assists Cyber Terrorists by Falling for Defamation Scam). I only became aware of the prank when a relative, an O'Reilly fan, telephoned me, in shock, reporting that O'Reilly had read an e-mail from me on the air. This O'Reilly fan had been sending O'Reilly e-mails for years never having been "lucky" enough to have his e-mail read on the air. Indeed, O'Reilly confirms e-mails before reading them. He never contacted me for a confirmation. When I wrote his lawyers about this, they refused to provide me with a copy of the original e-mail or a detailed explanation of how they verified it. I have always believed that O'Reilly did not receive an e-mail in my name. My assumption, all along, has been that this was an inside job. This would explain O'Reilly's refusal to prove that he had received such an e-mail at all. One would need some deep connections within the entertainment industry to pull of this stunt. I've let KOBE SCREENPASS know that I have evidence implying his identity. He has responded with the claim that his deep and heavy legal ties will bring strong consequences upon me if I expose his identity. KOBE has been known to post messages in the names of others. KOBE has been known to send spoofed emails. As I indicated, I examined the header of the recent hate mail purportedly from Neal Tabachnick and it does not appear to have been spoofed. There's more. The e-mail name (sans the domain) used by the sender of the hate mail is the word "pithy". Those of you that have had the misfortune of watching O'Reilly know that every show includes a request for "pithy" emails. I come to no conclusion on this. I leave the question to the reader. Is Neal Tabachnick a member of KOBE or not? Given that KOBE has engaged in online terrorism, it is a question I believed best answered by an investigation by law enforcement. Without access to private e-mail account information, no definitive conclusion can be drawn. It is clear, however, that either one Neal Tabachnick did send me the hate mail or someone has intentionally attempted to make it appear that Neal Tabachnick sent me the hate mail. In either case, an evil deed has been undertaken.
