san diego independent media center presents... EVERYDAY REBELLION

Everyday Rebellion explores the diversity and creativity of contemporary global nonviolence, grounded in a disputed claim that nonviolent resistance movements have been twice as effective over the past 100 years as have violent resistance movements. Tactics covered include pingpong balls, helium balloons, candles, cooking utensils, hair clips, ice cubes, jokes, graffiti campaigns, naked bodies, mock tribunals and public fountains dyed blood red, filmed in Madrid, Kiev, New York, Tehran and Syria. A wide-ranging and critical discussion of nonviolence and media portrayals of resistance will follow the film.

The San Diego Independent Media Center has been questioning authority and facilitating communication in solidarity with communities since 2001. ||
