What does "Isang Bagsak" and "La Luche Sigue" mean?

Isang Bagsak translates from Tagalog to "One Down, One Fall" and La Luche Sigue translates from spanish to "The Struggle continues". Together, it symbolizes the spirit of solidarity from the Filipino and Mexican communities during the Delano Grape Strikes.

50 years ago, September 8, 1965, was the start of the Delano Grape Strike, a movement that created the United Farm Workers, and brought together the Filipino and Mexican Farm workers to join as one and fight in the name of social justice.

UniPro San Diego, Cesar Chavez Commemoration Committee, House of the Philippines, House of Mexico, and NaFFAA would like to present a celebration and recognition of this movement to continue unifying both our communities.

Please join us on Saturday, September 5, 2015, as we celebrate the Delano Grape Strike with performances and opportunities to learn more about the history behind this moment. Thank you and see you there!
