Haven't been able to make it to Standing Rock? Horrified by the images of violence as private security companies attack the protectors with dogs? Want to get to Standing Rock to support? Want to organize to send supplies?

Let's meet on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Balboa Park (6th and Laurel) to organize San Diego response to DAPL and support for our relatives at Standing Rock. #NODAPL

UPDATE!!!

This gathering will focus on organizing solidarity against DAPL and to support tribal nations defending land and sovereignty. This is a non-violent, family-friendly gathering.

This gathering is organized to support a larger demonstration happening on Friday afternoon organized by Kumeyaay and urban Natives in solidarity with Standing Rock. We encourage everyone to also attend the demonstration on Friday.

Wednesday Agenda:
opening prayers / ceremonial welcome
speakers and updates on what is happening in Standing Rock
break out groups:
-banner and sign making
-coordinating donations
-travel / delegation planning
-community organizing / getting the word out
-independent media / documentation
-meeting space for folks who want to plan future events / build for Friday
-meeting space if folks want a space to discuss local Indigenous rights / land issues
then we will come back together for Next Steps

This gathering will center Indigenous voices and communities, but all are welcome to participate.

Event Location:
Balboa Park - corner of 6th Street and Laurel
