AfroEcaudor... Valle Del Chota.....
Greetings to all my relations,
A few weeks have passed since my last blog entry, and we are feeling closer and closer to Panama. I hope the run is doing well in the north and in hope someone can post something so we can know where thye run is in Mexico. We are very good, and have recently left Ecuador and have now entered Colombia. It was hard to leave Ecuador because of everything we experienced and the way the communities received the spirit of the journeys.
Our last weeks in Ecuador were spent in Imbabura, i would like to thank all the communities, mamas, and taitas that made that place so memorable. We had the blessing to be received for the first time by the AfroEcuadorian communities in El Valle del Chota. It was an amazing experience to be with our brothers and sisters their, especially with mama Irma and her family. We were able to exchange our music customs and spend time with the youth so we could see that we are all the same people.
I would also like to thank Modesto Congo, one of the African leaders from that community for everything he did for us and for running through his community. I also wanted to thank my little niece Nantu and her sisters for accompanying us and for praying hard and bringing so much joy to the family, we think about you all the time.
For about a week we have been in Colombia, which is beautiful. We have been well taken care of and received by many communities already. Thanks to the communities in Pastos, and the Inga and Quillasinga people for their prayers and strength that we will take with us all the way to Panama.
I will write more when i get a chance, i hope all my fellow runners in the north stay strong..... were almost there....
