San Diego Indymedia Tech Update:

The San Diego Indymedia website has been down since late August because of tech problems that we cannot immediately fix. After exploring the options, SDIMC volunteers decided to work on remaking the server from scratch by installing new system software and a new open source content management system, drupal, using a nonhierarchical, skill-share oriented process. In the interim, the San Francisco Bay Independent Media Center has very kindly offered to host a dedicated San Diego Indymedia newswire, which SDIMC volunteers will participate in editing. Features related to stories on that newswire will appear on this page (check for updates soon!) Archives of previous content posted to San Diego Indymedia (our old website) are now available with the old URLs: Front Page (frozen) | Feature Archive | Newswire Archive . (note that navigation throught the archives is currently a little tedious. We will be adding some navigation tools and a search engine shortly). We hope to have a new bare-bones SDIMC website with newswire operating in late October or November, with upgrades largely completed by the end of the year (fingers crossed).
